What Are the Differences Between Demons to Angels?
Mihran: There are a few differences that we know from the Word of God between demons and angels. First, angels do not need a body. They never had a physical body and they operate without a body. On the other hand, demons need a body. As we know, a demon is a disembodied spirit. A demon once had a physical body and seeks another physical body to operate from. The fallen angels of Satan are bound in Tartarus (Hell) (2 Peter 2:4 ):
For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;
The word "hell" was originally the Greek word "Tartarus." The angels are bound in chains of darkness, waiting for judgment. The fallen angels are imprisoned; they are not free to roam, whereas, demons are not bound and are free to roam in dry places and are free to enter a person when a door is open for them. Demons and angels are not the same.
Demons are not yet bound. Demons can only manifest when they are in a body. Demons have no power outside of a body. When a demon is cast out of a person it will roam through dry places until it finds another home (person or animal) to dwell in [Matthew 12:43-45]. If a person is delivered from demons, yet the person does not fill himself will the Word of God, living godly, in soul and body, a demon will come back to the same person and bring seven of his friends. The person will be worse off. Jesus explains this in Matthew 12:43-45:
As we see in Matthew 12:43-45, angels do not behave this way; demons do. When a demon is cast out of a person it will roam through dry places until it finds another house (person or animal) to dwell in [Matthew 12:43-45].
